Who should attend the Retreat?

Any adoptive, foster, or prospective adoptive/foster mom!

 

Whether you are interested in adoption or foster care, are just starting out, in the process, in the waiting stage, have just completed an adoption or foster placement, or have been an adoptive or foster momma for years...this retreat is for you!

 

 

What can I expect from attending the Joy in the Journey Retreat?

You can expect a weekend full of encouragement and connection with other adoptive and foster mamas, where you will be poured into and taken care of.  We are an interdenominational ministry. The weekend will include main sessions, breakout sessions, worship times, meals, connection times, and some recreation time. It is a chance to rest, rejuvenate, refresh, and connect with God and other moms and future moms who “get it.” All of it!

 

 

When is the Retreat?

This year's retreat will be February 24 -26, 2017.  

 

 

Where is the Retreat?

The Retreat will take place at the Windermere Conference Center. Windermere is located on the shores of beautiful Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. 

Windermere is located 3 hours from both the Kansas City aiport and the St. Louis airport. The Columbia, MO and Springfield, MO airports are  1.5 hours away from the conference center. 

 

 

What is included in the Retreat cost?

This year's Retreat will cost $150.

 

Your $150 Retreat registration includes:

What is the cancellation or refund policy?

Joy in the Journey will not refund any purchased ticket. If you are unable to attend, it is your responsiblity to contact us at joyinthejourneyministry@gmail.com as soon as possible. If we have a wait list at that time, we will help facilitate the transfer of your ticket. There will be ABSOLUTELY no transfers after January 15, 2017. 

Can I bring my baby/child?

THIS IS A CHILD FREE event! As much as we LOVE children and babies, this retreat is designed for moms to rest, rejuvenate, refresh, and connect with God and others. Please no children or infants of any age. No exceptions. 

What is the Retreat theme?

The theme for the 2017 Retreat is Fearless. As believers we are called to live out a life of power, love, and self-discipline. We are only able to do this when we cast our fears on the Lord and release our anxieties and expectations that we hold as both women and mothers. We can do hard things. Together we will explore what it means to live boldly, walk in freedom, and live fearlessly in the Lord. Full of courage and unashamed. 

Our theme verse is 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

 

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Through Windermere Conference Center we are able to provide Gluten Free meals. Please mark this on your registration form. We are not able to meet any additional dietary needs, so please plan accordingly. 

What are the lodging accomodations?

Each room contains 1 queen bed, 2 sets of twin bunk beds, a private bath, and a private lake-view veranda. All linens and bedding will be provided. Please click here to see more information about the Conference Center and our accommodations in the Lakeview Lodge. 

Each person will be allowed one roommate request. You and your roommate MUST request each other to ensure your place together. It is not uncommon for women to come on their own and not have a roommate to request. Much thought and prayer is put into the roomate assignments and every year new friendships are formed.

How do I register for the 2017 Joy in the Journey?

Registration for the 4th annual Joy in the Journey Retreat will go live on Saturday, October 22nd, at 5:00 p.m. CST. You will be able to register and pay using this  registration page.  If you are planning to attend the retreat, you will definitely want to mark your calendars and set your alarm so you are prepared to register and purchase your ticket at that time. Due to the smaller, more intimate atmosphere of this event, there are very limited tickets available. We don't want YOU to miss out on getting to join us!!

How do I know this retreat will be worth the trip/registration fee?

The Joy in the Journey team volunteers hundreds of hours praying, planning, and preparing for the Retreat each year.
