Director of Fundraising

The Director of Fundraising for Joy in the Journey, Inc. is a branch of the Executive Team.  This volunteer position will communicate directly with the Executive Director to set clear financial goals, receive approval of fundraising activities from the executive team, and report all earnings and donations.  The Director of Fundraising will formulate the fundraising/donation solicitation plan and report to the executive team prior to carrying out activities.  This volunteer is encouraged to formulate a committee to meet financial goals if they wish.  Full and complete transparency is imperative to this position.

 

This is a one-year commitment, which will be evaluated and renewed at will with the evaluation of the Executive Team.

Director of Administration

The Director of Administration is a volunteer support role to the Joy in the Journey Executive Team and works with the ministry as a whole as well as completes tasks specific to the Kansas City retreat.  

 

For the ministry as a whole, the Director of Administration is in charge of correspondence including answering incoming emails and disseminating information as needed, ensuring subscription and vendor payments are completed on time and reported to accounting, and writing and sending cards of encouragement to women in the Joy community.  Additionally, the Director of Administration will run monthly accounting checks, categorize all income and expenses for the organization, match receipts to expenses, hold a physical copy of all receipts, and provide a monthly verbal report of the financial status of the ministry.

 

For the Kansas City Retreat, the Director of Administration ensures streamlined communication through overseeing the following: retreat schedule and changes to schedule throughout the year, writing the theme description, organizing the vendor area, writing thank you cards to presenters, selecting and coordinating donations with the partner organization, organizing scholarships that are given at retreat, and coordinating and creating the family slideshow.

 

As part of the Executive Team, this position reports directly to the Executive Director.  Attendance at online monthly meetings (once per month) is expected, as is attendance at the Kansas City Joy in the Journey Retreat.  The position is an on-going position to be evaluated and renewed annually.
