Mamas, there will be those days. Oh, there will be those days. Days when you want to crawl away from the world; start anew; get a do-over; pretend the ugly didn’t happen. Days where people are unkind to your children. Days when you fight and struggle and hurt for them like nobody’s business. Days you will question, “Why me?” Days that make absolutely no earthly sense this side of the veil. Days you simply want to give up.
Take heart, sweet friend. You are not alone. Many have trod where you have been, where you are, or where you are going. Take heart, and do not fear. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.” – Psalm 46:1-3
This world and its struggles and hurts are but temporary, even in the middle of all of the pain and questions. You are loved, and you are not alone. You are given refuge from this swelling, roaring, shifting thing called life. You are given a NEW life, a NEW tomorrow, a NEW chance. Unfathomable! Amazing!
Take refuge in this promise and rise above it all. You can do hard things.
